  • 2 cups powdered sugar (sifted)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with paper liners.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  3. In another bowl, blend melted butter with sugar until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in sour cream and Guinness until smooth.
  4. Gradually fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined; avoid overmixing.
  5. Fill cupcake liners two-thirds full with batter and bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. For the frosting, beat softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla until fluffy. Frost cooled cupcakes generously.
