  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 box (3.4 oz) chocolate pudding mix
  • Chocolate frosting (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and sugar.
  3. In another bowl, combine eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter between prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow cakes to cool for 10 minutes in pans before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
  7. Prepare chocolate pudding according to package instructions.
  8. Assemble by placing one cake layer on a serving platter and spreading half of the pudding on top. Add the second layer and top with remaining pudding and frosting.
