Description

  • 3 lbs Russet potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 medium sweet onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the onion until translucent. Add garlic and sauté for an additional minute.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together heavy cream, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the prepared baking dish. Add half of the onion-garlic mixture followed by half of the creamy mixture. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
  5. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and cover with foil. Bake for 45 minutes; remove foil for an additional 15 minutes or until golden brown.
