  • 4 medium sweet potatoes (about 2 lbs), peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream, melted butter, minced garlic, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
  3. Layer half of the sweet potato slices in the greased baking dish. Pour half of the cream mixture over the top and sprinkle with half the cheese.
  4. Repeat layering with remaining sweet potatoes, cream mixture, and cheese.
  5. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
