  • 2 ripe pears, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse cranberries under cold water and remove stems or damaged berries.
  2. Peel, core, and chop pears into small pieces.
  3. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine cranberries, chopped pears, sugar, orange juice, and the cinnamon stick. Stir occasionally until cranberries begin to pop.
  4. Simmer gently for about 10-15 minutes until the mixture thickens to a jam-like consistency.
  5. If using pecans, stir them in during the last few minutes of cooking.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool for about 30 minutes before serving or storing in jars.
